Busy LifeStyle Packs

The Busy life style packs are data bundles designed to fit customers lifestyle. These are Swag, Suit, Jam and Chill Packs. Each of these have been carefully designed to meet the unique lifestyle of our customers:

  • Swag Pack: The Swag Pack is primarily for social media enthusiasts who love to spend time on Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Snapchat. This pack allows our customers with this lifestyle to enjoy their social life; just the way the want it.
  • Suit Pack: The Suit Pack is for the young professional or young executive who believes in work-life balance. The Suit pack offers this group of customers a mix of social media and YouTube for fun, work or education.
  • Jam Pack: The Jam Pack is for the avid YouTuber who loves to upload videos and watch a lot of video content on YouTube for relaxation, education or work.
  • Chill Pack: This pack is for the family  man or woman with a busy work schedule who wants internet for personal or family use. The Chill pack allows this group of customers to spend quality time with their families on weekends and at night, work from home and effectively plan their lives for that perfect fit.

New customers, need to buy a Busy MiFi at GHc99 with 2GB preloaded data or GHc149 with 5GB preloaded data or an Indoor Router at GHc350 with 5GB preloaded data.

Customers can subsequently enjoy the Busy Lifestyle packs by topping up their data from as low Ghc30. Existing customers can also top up their data from as low as Ghc30 to choose a lifestyle pack.

Customers can choose any lifestyle pack they want. All they need to do is to buy the qualifying bundle that allows them to choose the corresponding pack.

  • Each lifestyle pack is made up of a dedicated account and a main account. The dedicated account means, customers have specific allocated data for their most preferred internet browsing activities such as social media, YouTube, night and weekend browsing. The main account on the other hand, can be used for any internet browsing activities.
  • Below are the lifestyle packs with corresponding data volumes and price.

Yes, customers can always buy an additional data bundle from the Busy base bundles to increase the data volume in their main account; or whenever they run out of data.

The Busy lifestyle packs are valid for 30days. However, customers are free to buy new lifestyle packs before the 30days validity once they run out of data. Alternatively, customers can decide to buy additional data from the main Busy base bundle.

Busy base bundles are Busy’s standard data bundles which ranges from 100MB to 50GB. These bundles do not come with free additional data and have standard validity period. Table below displays the various Busy base bundles available with the corresponding validity.

Yes, customers can roll over their lifestyle packs when they decide to buy the same lifestyle pack before the 30 days’ validity period expires.

Yes, customers can always rollover their main account volume if they buy a base bundle from 2GB and above.

Yes, customers on Power of 4 can buy a lifestyle pack. However, they will cease to enjoy the freebies that come with the power of 4. Customers must also note that, once they subscribe to the Busy Lifestyle pack, they cannot go back to subscribe to the Power of 4.

New customers who join Busy 4G will receive free data with every MiFi purchased. However, this free data will go into the customer’s main account to use for general internet browsing. For a new customer to enjoy the lifestyle pack, the customer will have to buy the qualifying lifestyle pack.

Busy Self Service

The Busy Self Service is an easy and convenient mobile service that allows you to top-up your account, buy a Busy bundle and check your balance on your mobile handset

The Busy Self Service is accessible on all networks in Ghana. All you need to do is to dial *718*44# on your mobile handset or phone.

Access to the Busy self-service is FREE and you can access it 24/7

You can top up your account, buy a Busy bundle or check your account with the Busy Self Service. All you need to do is to dial *718*44#.

The Busy self-service option allows you to perform basic account management functions like top-up, check balance or bundle data purchase without internet access. This means, you do not need to log in to My Busy4G app to access service. However, with My Busy4G mobile app, allows you to do more. For instance, with My Busy4G mobile app, beyond topping up, checking balance or bundling data, you can share and transfer data, check usage history, recharge history and many more.


Devices

To use Busy’s 4G service, customers will need to have a Busy SIM card installed in their 4G device. 4G devices supplied by Busy include an installed SIM card.

The Busy SIM card should remain in the same device that it was purchased with. Other devices may not be compatible with Busy 4G network. We cannot guarantee that any other device will work on the Busy network and recommend that you only use Busy 4G data devices.

Not all devices are designed to operate on the frequency spectrum band used by Busy. Other devices may not be compatible with Busy 4G network and we cannot guarantee that non-Busy devices will work on the Busy network. We recommend that you only use Busy 4G data devices on our network.

Our data devices come with 3 month warranty.  The warranty is void if the device has been tampered with in any way or is defective due to misuse by the customer.

If you have a faulty device that is still within the warranty period, the device should be taken to a Busy store or retail outlet. Busy will only be able to honour the warranty if there is no visible or water damage to the device. Original receipt of purchase must also be presented when the faulty device is taken to the store.

Yes, you can connect your Wi-Fi-enabled tablet using a Busy MiFi or indoor router device

You will only be able to access the internet with a 3G handset when using the WiFi functionality to connect to a Busy device. Customers will not be able to access Busy’s 4G services using non-compatible 4G handsets or devices

Your Mobile Data Number is included in the Welcome email that we sent to you when you first joined Busy. This number is also on the MyBusy card that was included in your original device box. Alternatively, if you know your MyBusy log-in username and password, the Mobile Data Number is displayed on the overview page. You can also contact our customer services team on 0800 300 800

Your choice of device is dependent on a number of factors including the number of end-user devices that will be connected to the internet using the data device and whether mobility is required. The MiFi is ideal where up to 14 end user devices will be connected to the internet and mobility is required. For up to 32 users and where mobility is not required, the Indoor router would be more appropriate.

To change the network name (SSID) and/or Password, type address 192.168.1.1 into the web browser. The default access password is admin. Once logged in, you will be able to change the Wi-Fi network name and password

As the 4G network is based on radio technology, you will get the best data service on your 4G device when the device is outdoor or close to a window. We recommend that you move your device to different locations to identify the optimal position for best service. Also, avoid placing your device within 3 feet of any cordless phones, microwaves or wireless routers to avoid any frequency interference.

You can connect up to 14 WiFi enabled end-user devices and 1USB tethering device to the MiFi at the same time.

Joining

Our MiFi and Indoor router are ready to use without installation. Our sales executive will activate your device in-store and it will be ready to use. Therefore, you will not need a technician to visit your premises unless you are purchasing an outdoor router.

Your Busy device will be activated in-store and will automatically connect to the 4G network when you first switch it on inside the coverage area.

You can have multiple subscriptions within each customer account. If you already have a Busy 4G subscription, you can add new subscriptions to your customer account at any Busy store or by calling our customer services team.

Your Busy Sim will be registered at the time of purchase.  This will take a few minutes and you will need to have a valid form of ID

There is no charge to register a SIM.  Our devices come with a SIM card.

Registration will be done at the time of purchase. Your new SIM card will be ready to use after this.

Busy has a regulatory requirement from the National Communications Authority (NCA) to undertake SIM registration on all new accounts

As stipulated by the National Communications Authority (NCA), Busy needs to see EITHER of the following in original form for SIM registration: Passport size photograph, Valid Passport, Valid Employee ID, Student ID from an accredited educational institution, Voter’s card or a Valid Driver’s license. In addition, a Certificate of Incorporation is required for Business registration. A copy of the Passport is mandatory for all Foreign nationals.

Managing My Account

To reset your password/username, please visit MyBusy and request for a new username/password to be sent to the email address that you registered when you first activated your service. Alternatively you can call the customer services team on 0800 300 800 (toll free). You will need your Account number which can be found on your MyBusy card.

All customers can check their account balance by logging in to www.busy.com.gh/MyBusy.

Customers can check their account details by logging in to www.busy.com.gh/MyBusy. Account details are also included on the Welcome email and the MyBusy card that was provided to you when you first joined Busy

The recipient will receive a text message with information on the amount of credit and the account number of the person that sent the credit

Customers can view their usage history by logging into www.busy.com.gh/MyBusy

Customers can top-up their account using debit/credit cards, Mobile Money, recharge voucher or electronic topup. Further details on how to top-up are on the Top-up page of the website

Yes, you will be informed when you have reached 70%, 90% and 100% of your data bundle

Yes, you will be informed when your account is about to run out of credit.

Yes, customers that have purchased monthly bundles will be informed in advance of the bundle expiry and when the bundle expires.

Prepaid customers will not receive a bill/invoice. Post-paid customers will only receive an electronic invoice which can be printed. Post-paid customers wising to receive a printed invoice may be charged for this service.

MyBusy is an online tool for all Busy customers to manage their account. You can view your account balance, usage, transaction history and lots more. All Busy customers have been given access to MyBusy. If you have forgotten your username/password, visit MyBusy and request for a reminder to be sent to you.


Network & Coverage

Busy’s 4G network currently covers Accra and Tema. Please check the coverage map on our website to see which locations are covered by our 4G service.

International roaming on 4G is currently not enabled.

4G stands for the 4th generation of wireless network technology, following 3G, the third generation. 4G is sometimes referred to as LTE which stands for Long Term Evolution, a technology for deliverying high-speed data to mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and Mobile WiFis.  4G technology is the fastest mobile braodband service available today, providing up to 10x the speeds of 3G networks.

Busy 4G is currently available throughout Accra and Tema. New coverage areas across the country will be added in future

Busy’s 4G network currently covers Accra and Tema. The Busy team are working on expanding the coverage to other parts of the country soon. Please visit our website regularly for updates.

At the current time, our customers will only be able access service whilst within our coverage area


Post Paid Customers

The credit will be included in your next bill. You can also check any credit by logging into MyBusy.

Customers can view monthly invoices going back up to 3 months.

Prepaid customers will not receive a bill/invoice. Post-paid customers will only receive an electronic invoice which can be printed. Post-paid customers wising to receive a printed invoice may be charged for this service.

You can use MyBusy to check details of the charges on your bill. If you still have questions about your bill, please contact Busy Customer Services on 0800 300 800

Post-paid bills can be paid either a Busy Retail store or at our bank – Ecobank Ghana.

If you make an overpayment on your bill, your outstanding bill will be cleared and the remaining amount will be credited to your next bill.

The deposit is required to provide a guarantee against any credit risk and failure to pay your bill. The value of the deposit is dependent of your expected level of spend in a month. Visit a Busy shop for more details.

Yes, any customer or business can get a post-paid subscription. However, a deposit will be taken to provide guarantee against any credit risk and the failure to pay your bill.

Post-paid subscriptions can only be activated at a Busy Retail store.

Yes, you can convert your pre-paid account into a post-paid account, but you will need to provide a deposit.

You will receive your deposit if/when you terminate your contract with Busy. Please notify us in writing if you wish to terminate your contract. Any outstanding bill payments will first be paid out of the deposit before the remainder is paid back to the subscriber.


Product Queries

If you are not subscribed to a bundle plan, you may be charged an out-of-bundle rate. Customers can opt-in to be automatically charged out-of-bundle rates to avoid loosing connectivity. The prevailing out-of-bundle rate is published on our website.

Freebies cannot be suspended.

Yes, you can contact us on 0800300800 and suspend your account till you return

Yes you can share credits so long as your partners account is linked to yours, other wise you transfer credits to him/her if the account is not linked to yours

If you have already registered with Busy, you will simply add your new number to your earlier registration at any Busy store.

Yes, linked accounts also have access to MyBusy. Whilst the main account can see linked accounts, linked accounts are unable to see details of the main account.

There are no limits to the number of accounts linked to a main account.

A linked account is an additional customer account that can be managed under a “Parent” account. Linked accounts can share data/wallet balance. This can be useful for a family account or business account that is usually managed by a single person.

The freebies are truly free. The extra amount paid is a contribution towards the additional data received as part of the data device.

There are three main reasons to choose. Busy has the best 4G coverage. Busy is offering flexible and innovative tariffs; Our data devices are the most affordable. We deliver excellent customer experience.

Our rate per MB is published on our website and this can only apply when you opt for the Auto out of bundle feature. This means that as long as you have funds within your Busy account, the data will be charged per MB.

A MiFi is a mobile wireless device that can serve up to 10 devices within a 100meter range baring any obstacles. The MiFi can last up to 8 hours on battery. A Router is a wireless device that needs to be plugged into an AC power source. It can support up to 32 devices within a home or an office

You have up to 72hours to select your freebie from the day you purchase your qualifying bundle of 5GB and above. You should go to the manage subscription page of MyBusy to choose the freebie. Once a selection is made and confirmed, it cannot be changed.

Yes, Night and Weekend freebies allows unlimited internet use during the validity period. This includes unlimited YouTube.

The weekend freebie is valid for all weekends (Saturdays & Saturdays) within a 30 day period.

You cannot extend the validity period of an existing freebie.

Customers with an existing freebie can change the freebie when they buy a new data bundle of 5GB and above. Customers can choose another freebie as part for the selection of the bundle. However, existing freebies will become invalid when the purchase of the new freebie is completed

Yes, Busy’s 4G LTE network provides faster speeds and lower latency and therefore a superior user experience for watching video, streaming and other downloads.

Busy offers a new experience in voice and data services to individuals and businesses. Visit our website for details

Busy’s 4G network offers theoretical download speeds up to 55mbps. However, actual customer experienced speeds are expected to be between 5mbps and 15mbps. We have “capped” the speeds that customers can receive to enable them manage their data usage as high speeds means that data bundles will be depleted faster. The “capped” speed still provides great service to customers for most of their data usage including data downloads and streaming. Customers who require faster speeds should contact Busy Customer Services team on 0800 300 800.

Busy allows customers to rollover unused bundles. Rollover is limited to certain bundles only and certain conditions apply in order to enable rollover of unused bundles. Please see the terms and conditions on our website for details.

Validity of each data bundle is published on the Busy website alongside each bundle.

Unless you have opted into using out-of-bundle data and you have credit in your account for using out-of-bundle data, your service will be interrupted when you run out of data in your bundle.

If you are out of data or you bundle expires, you will be re-directed to the Busy website where you can buy a new data bundle.

You can use the data calculator on the Busy website to estimate you expected data usage and the right data bundle for your data use. Please note that the calculator only provides an estimate and should not be taken as the precise measure of data usage.

Busy is committed to providing you with fast and reliable 4G Internet service. That’s why we have taken steps to implement a fair use policy designed to reduce the speeds of a few users who are responsible for generating large volumes of traffic on the network which greatly impacts the service we offer to other paying customers. Service Queries

If your mobile phone is lost or stolen, you should immediately contact Busy Customer Service on 0800 300 800 so that we can bar your SIM card and prevent unwanted charges on your account. To get a replacement SIM, visit any Busy retail outlet to purchase a new SIM card. We can transfer your account details to the new SIM.

If your data device or SIM card is lost or stolen, you should immediately contact Busy Customer Service on 0800 300 800 and we can bar your account to prevent unwanted charges/usage. Amounts remaining on your account will not be lost. However, prior to contacting Busy, we cannot guarantee that your device will not be used by the person that has access todevice. Therefore we cannot take responsibility for any usage on your account prior to notifying Busy.

If you do not have network signal on your smartphone or 4G data device, please check the following:

  • you are in an area with Busy coverage
  • you are using a Busy SIM in your device and it is inserted properly
  • your device is powered on.
  • If you are using Wi-Fi, also check that you have selected the right network and logged into your network

Simply power off your device and then power it back on. The device will re-register with the network and your data services such as email and web surfing should work.

Try restarting your data device and ensure that your device(s) are selecting the right Wi-Fi network. If you are still unable to connect, please call the Busy Customer Services team.

Simply turn your device off and on again.

When you get a message that reads, “Page cannot be displayed” on certain websites, that particular URL might be experiencing some difficulties.  Please try again after a few minutes.

If you are re-directed the Busy homepage, please log into MyBusy and check that you have data on your account.

If you are out of data or your bundle has expires, you will be re-directed to the Busy website where you can buy a new data bundle.

Yes, you can view any page on the Busy website, including MyBusy without using your data bundle.

The default Wi-Fi Access Key (SSID) and password are printed at the back of the Mi-Fi device.

Yes. You can share your MiFi with multiple end-user devices by sharing your WiFi access key and password. If you suspect that other people have unautorised access to your WiFi, you can chnage the password by logging into 192.168.1.1. The default password is Admin.


Useful Tips & Hints

As the 4G network is based on radio technology, you will get the best data service on your 4G device where the device is outdoor or close to a window. We recommend that you move your device to different locations to identify the optimal position for best service. We also recommend that you use a Busy 4G LTE device to get the best service. We cannot guarantee that other devices will be compatible with our network.

We recommend that customers use the Busy 4G network for getting the best quality on video calls. This will require connecting to the network using a 4G data device (USB dongle, Mi-Fi or Indoor router) and connecting your laptop or mobile phone using Wi-Fi.

To avoid interruption to your data session, you are advised to purchase another bundle before the existing bundle expired. Alternatively, you can opt to use data at the out-of-bundle rate. However, you must have sufficient credit in your account to use out-of-bundle data.

Oftentimes, your end-user device may still be transmitting data when in idle mode. Some of the services that will use data include:

  • Web Pages Advertisements.
  • Web Page Content Types (Flash Website, Video Sites, Automatic Content streaming etc.).
  • Phone Apps auto update – You Own Phone.
  • Phone Apps auto update – Shared Internet with friends.
  • Operating System Updates. (Mac / Windows / Linux)
  • Application Updates – Antivirus Updates, New Application Versions, Application Updates
  • Video Streaming Content (240p=low data consumption rate / 1080p = high data consumption rate)
  • Smart TV’s OS + Streaming Engines.
  • Audio Streaming Content.
  • Actual Downloads.
